Today we're bringing you day 2 of our 7Dots feature with a magnificent tutorial by Ana Paula and a cute little gift box by Trina.... Let's start with Ana's tutorial....
It´s Ana Paula Leal from Brazil here and I am very happy to share with you a scrapbooking layout I made with the wonderful papers from 7 Dots Studio.
This is a page where I wanted to make the effects of light and shadows "pop" giving a dramatic atmosphere that highlights the sepia photograph of my daughter and one of our cats, named Ozzy.
I wanted to give a special effect to the cutouts of flowers from the 12th teacup paper ( Domestic Goddess line)and I think I got it!
Below, you can find a tutorial to get this beautiful effect.
1-Start with the "12th Teacup" from Domestic Goddess collection. Cut out some patterns from that paper. Use a craft knife to cut out all the inner details.
2-Use glue to adhere the image on a vellum paper.
3-Cut out again the image. Look how the inner details are now covered by the vellum.
4-Use white dry pastel to paint the back of the image in a gradient way.
5-Turn the paper to the right side and paint it with pastel pencil to give the vellum impression of “light”
